Sub-Meter (Special Electric Heat Rate)
The sub-meter rate applies to meters that are only recording electric heat usage(kWh) for the months of October through May. This is a second meter at a service with the sole purpose of only recording heat usage. These kWh's are subtracted from the main meter's kWh and are charged the the below special electric heat rate. The remaining kWh's registered on the main meter will be charged based upon the rate classification under which the service would normally qualify.
The special heat rate is 5.5¢ per kWh.
